2011 has come and gone – thankfully, some of us may say. It was a difficult year in many respects – one of flux and uncertainty – not to memtion natural disasters that had a profound impact both personally and on the computer industry. Hopefully 2012 will be better. It will certainly be full of innovation and new products.

One thing for sure – 2012 will be the year that the Windows Tablet rises up to take its rightful place in the computing arena. And that tablet will run Windows 8 – the brand new, all-singing, all-dancing operating system that is touch-centric and specifically designed for tablet use.

Say goodbye to the Start Button – Say goodbye to the Desktop. And say goodbye to slow boot times. The new Windows tablet will switch on and run (or it will simply BE on, thanks to power-saving technologies) – Your most-used applications will be right in front of you, where you need them. And switching between them will be instantaneous, thanks to solid-state hard drives and capacious RAM.

Developers are now busy writing the new crop of great apps that will be available for the new interface – All you could ever wish for.

At last the tablet will be a fully-functional computer. Use it for business, run any Windows application, connect to your network and the Internet – This will be the device you will wonder how you ever lived without!
